More and more is written about the fact that Gum Diseases can in some cases be life threatening, yet there are still so many patients who know very little about it or how to check whether they have it. There is a reason why there are so many jokes about dentists - simply put - there are many, many people who have very real fears about visiting a dentist.

Wanting a beautiful smile is something so many of us long for. There are many treatments available which can help you to achieve one. In the past, long treatments have seemed daunting and expensive, but treatments change and there is more choice these days. I feel we are intimate enough to encourage 'old fashioned' commitment and values, yet up-to-date enough to offer every patient excellent service using some of the most modern treatments available.

We offer a vast range of treatments from children's and general dentistry to cosmetic dentistry and state of the art laser dentistry (something which allows treatment to take place without injections!).
Services
We are a small, friendly practice which is owned by Dr Michael Richter.
He is determined to ensure that it is an environment where each patient receives the best treatment available to them.
This includes going back to traditional values where each patient counts, and consultations are a decent length of time, where every treatment is carefully explained and then professionally delivered to ensure our patients are entirely satisfied.
Most importantly, as opposed to what's traditionally associated with going to the Dentist, we'd like it to be a pleasant experience, where you will receive top class treatment in a warm and 'family' like environment.
We are a small family practice where Dr Michael Richter and his friendly team offer a diverse range of modern treatments.
Although predominantly a private practice, we are also proud of our allocated Domiciliary NHS work.
Dr Richter is a very experienced and committed practitioner, who, even after many years, is still passionate and excited about the field of Dentistry!
Having qualified in 1991 in South Africa, he worked for many years as a Dental Surgeon in both Private and NHS practices.
He has a special interest in Dental Surgery eg.
As well as offering treatments to prevent problems occurring in the mouth, and day to day dental treatments, we offer a comprehensive range of restorative and cosmetic options.
To make it easier, these appear in alphabetical order, so you can scroll down to your area of interest.
This is a similar process to a crown (see below), but may be used to replace several missing teeth, and involves attaching the replacement teeth to existing teeth using strong and well fitted clasps.
This is a very good way of filling in gaps in the mouth and when looked after can be a good-looking and well-wearing solution for many years.
I know many people say this but I'd really had a bad experience with a dentist and so for many years had simply not had my regular check-ups.
Since I am a tooth grinder my teeth were fracturing and time and again I would lose a tooth through neglect.
I met Dr Richter and a family member persuaded me to see him, from the start I felt comfortable, was able to control my panic attacks because he was quietly reassuring and best of all my teeth were sorted out in an extremely gentle manner, which has left me feeling confident to see Dr Richter time and again, keeping visions of a complete set of dentures (because of what I thought to be hopeless teeth) - at bay.

Periodontal Diseases, or Gum Diseases as they're commonly known, are serious infections which can lead to all sorts of complications.
It begins where the plaque on our teeth cause the gum to become inflamed.
Incredibly these diseases don't only wreak havoc in the mouth, but can prove very detrimental to patients with other ailments eg.
