Services
There has been a dental surgery on this site for at least 80 years.
The name of those dentists who practiced here have been lost in mists of time, but some of the more recent names can still be recalled by our older patients.
In the 1960's, 1970's and the 80's there were two independent surgeries on this site.
One owned and run by Mr M Major, the other by Mr Malcolm Gilespy-Smith.
Each surgery shared the same waiting room.
It is hard to believe it now, but in those days every thing was done in one small room.
Research has proved beyond doubt that when it comes to caring for your teeth and gums, preventive dentistry is the best way of avoiding any potential problems.
Seeing a dentist regularly is an essential part of preventive care.
We will examine your mouth carefully for signs of any areas of concern, from tooth decay and erosion to mouth cancer and will advise future check-ups in line with NICE guidelines.
We will examine you thoroughly checking your teeth, gums and tissues of the mouth including screening for mouth cancer - something that is on the increase.
At Tudor House in Ashtead we have several hygienists who specialise in preventive oral health.
They are fully trained in all aspects of dental hygiene, providing treatment and personalised advice on achieving and maintaining good oral health.
Our hygienists play a key role in helping you to prevent or combat gum disease.
This condition is on the increase and can have serious consequences if left untreated.
It is caused by bacteria in plaque - a colourless, sticky film that constantly forms on your teeth.
Children are encouraged to attend the practice from a young age so that they become comfortable and happy in the surroundings.
It is important that we avoid or treat any problems with baby teeth as these can lead to difficulties with permanent teeth.
We promote healthy eating habits and give advice to parents and children to help prevent problems occurring.
Fluoride treatments and fissure sealants are carried out if appropriate to help protect and strengthen teeth.
Tudor House Dental is taking part in the Dental Check by One (DCby1) scheme to improve children's dental health.
If you are interested in professional whitening please speak to us.
As dentists we are regulated by the General Dental Council and are qualified to give advice on whitening treatments.
You are in very good hands.
We can provide you with custom-made trays and special whitening gel and show you how to use them.
You can then whiten your teeth gradually by wearing the trays for a short while each day at home at a time to suit you.
To book an appointment or discuss tooth whitening, please contact our practice in Ashtead on 01372 272357.
