Our friendly and experienced dental team aim to provide you with a high standard of dental care in a relaxed and friendly environment. All of our dental surgeries are modern, air conditioned and relaxing with a wide selection of magazines and reading material available. Treatment can be provided with the NHS, through Denplan or Privately and all patients who pay for their treatment can receive an estimate of the cost before treatment is carried out.
All our dental team members are involved in continual professional development with clinical staff attending regular courses to assimilate their knowledge with advances in techniques. Our monthly team meetings are attended by all clinic staff to discuss current dental issues and build on our team spirit.

During your regular dental examination our dentist will thoroughly check your teeth.
The dentist will also examine your gums and check the overall health of your mouth.
You may also be offered radiographs (x-rays) to check for decay between your teeth or a scanning radiograph to check for bone loss, missing teeth or other dental anomalies.
To maintain healthy teeth and gums we recommend adults should have a dental check-up every 6 to 24 months.

This is a special cleaning done by your dentist, which removes calculus (tartar) and staining from your teeth.
At your scale and polish appointment, the dentist will make a careful assessment of the condition of your gums.
Your teeth will then be scaled, using special instruments which remove any calculus (tartar) leaving your teeth and gums very clean.
The teeth are then polished to make them smooth, making it easier for you to keep them clean at home.
It is important to see your dentist regularly for a scale and polish as well as taking care to brush and floss your teeth carefully every day at home.

NHS Dental treatment came into existence in 1948.
Its aim was to make dentistry available to everybody.
At first this was a success but demand was so high, and the funding didn't continue to grow proportionately, that there soon became a shortage of dentists.
As it takes five years to train as a dentist at one of only 14 universities in the UK, it takes time for any shortfall in dentists to catch up.
NHS dentistry gives a core service of treatment to achieve dental health; it doesn't include any cosmetic treatment (such as white fillings in back teeth).
