Services
With a focus on Preventive Dentistry, we are passionate about helping our patients keep their teeth for life.
Our Mission Statement as a practice is to therefore "work towards improving general health, quality of life and wellbeing by helping our patients to achieve a healthy mouth.".
Originally a Victorian Villa, the premises have now been converted into a modern three surgery dental practice.
We have one ground floor surgery which is fully accessible to wheelchair users and two further surgeries on the first floor.
Preventive dentistry is the modern approach to reducing the amount of dental treatment required to maintain a healthy mouth and help keep your teeth for life.
At St Catherine's Dental Practice we champion 'Delivering Better Oral Health' a Report commissioned by the Department of Health that outlines the protocols dental practices should have in place to best ensure each and every patient has the opportunity to benefit from a happy, healthy smile.
Whilst it is the ideal way to manage the oral healthcare of children and young adults, it is the recommended approach for everyone - including people with false teeth who can benefit through the early identification of conditions like mouth cancer and denture stomatitis.
Did you know; gum disease and plaque build-up are often the most common causes of tooth decay and eventual tooth loss?
At St Catherine's Dental Practice, we pride ourselves on the close working relationship between our dentists and hygienist so that you can rest assured your oral health is always in good hands, with your treatment being adapted to any changes in the health of your gums and teeth.
Our dedicated hygienist are fully qualified to assess and treat any gum problems you may have.
As well as providing advice on the latest thinking on oral health, they carry out scaling and polishing to help as part of a preventative strategy and provide advanced treatments for gum disease.
We accept children under the age of 18 for NHS orthodontic treatment.
Patients must be eligible and will be assessed to see if they meet certain criteria.
If there is sufficient need for treatment, then this can be carried out at the practice under the NHS.
We also offer private treatment with Invisalign Clear Braces, an orthodontic clear aligner system.
This system offers the dentist and patient the opportunity to view their planned treatment using treatment planning software on the computer.
Invisalign offers clear invisible, retainer-type braces - a series of which are worn full time (except when removed for eating and drinking) to achieve straight teeth.
The Invisalign system uses a series of clear, custom fit mouth trays, or aligners, to straighten teeth without the need for metal wires or brackets.
The aligners are made using state-of-the art computer imaging technology, which is the first of its kind in the world.
The aligners are comfortable and removable, so patients can eat and drink as normal during the treatment process.
They can also keep their mouth perfectly clean and fresh.
And with no metal or wires, there is less chance of gum disease, abrasions, or other damage being caused to teeth.
