Oaklands Dental Practice
Throughout the pandemic we have been clear that our first priority is the wellbeing of our patients and colleagues and this will continue to be the case. Our re-opening will be phased and will depend on the availability of the appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) necessary to ensure everybody's safety. We will continue to take phone calls and a dentist will be able to offer advice, analgesics and antibiotics when appropriate.

We may be able to commence with urgent treatment that does not require the use of a drill which can produce aerosols. Limited treatments may be available and strict social distancing measures will be in place. The practice and the staff will look very different. There will be new procedures to follow when you come for your appointment and is it very important that you follow all the instructions you are given.

As we open, we intend to prioritise the patients who have been experiencing pain and discomfort during the lockdown. I hope you will understand. We will open the practice to more patients and more treatment options as soon as it is safe to do so.

At Oaklands Dental Care we pride ourselves on providing a professional and caring approach to your oral health.
Our comprehensive check ups involve a thorough examination of your oral health.
Regular check ups can ensure that we catch small problems before they turn into bigger ones.
Our emphasis on prevention helps our patients avoid costly and complicated procedures.
Our dentists can perform a variety of procedures to maintain the dental health of each patient.
All our treatment rooms are equipped to the highest standard to ensure the best environment for your care.
Crowns are used to restore worn or broken teeth where simple fillings are not suitable.
Crowns can restore function and protect the underlying root structure form further damage.
Crowns can now be made to look like natural teeth and can be metal free for superior aesthetics.
Crowns are also used on teeth after root canal treatment to protect from further risks of damage.
The tooth can be prepared and impressions taken before a skilled technician makes the crown which is then fitted with a strong cement at the next visit.
Dental hygienists are specially trained to work with the dentist in giving care to patients.
They play an important role in dental health care and are mainly concerned with gum health.
Most people suffer from some form of gum disease and it is the major cause of tooth loss in adults.
However, the disease develops slowly in most people and it can be slowed down to a rate that should allow you to keep most of your teeth for life.
Our hygienist Christine will show you the correct home care and how to remove plaque, while professionally cleaning the teeth.
