Welcome to Dr Ashley S Lupin and Associates website, Our dental practice is based in Chatham, at the heart of the Medway Towns in Kent. The practice was originally established by Dr Ashley Lupin, who qualified at University College Hospital Medical School in London, and the Royal College of Surgeons. Dr Lupin is a founder member of the Association of Medway Dentists, and also "Radio Dentist" answering phone-ins on Invicta Radio and the BBC for many years.
He was awarded the British Empire Medal by the Queen in the 2016 New Years Honours List, for Humanitarian Aid to Medical Training in Africa. If you are a new Patient, We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our practice. We are pleased to accept all new Patients, both NHS and Private. It is our policy for each patient to see one Dentist on a consistent basis However, if this is not possible for some reason suitable alternative arrangements will be made for you to see someone else within the Practice.
We have five surgeries which have been equipped to create a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere and we have the most up-to date x ray facilities available, all of our Professional and Auxiliary Staff are constantly updated in the latest techniques and are highly motivated.

Services
Our Principal Dentist Dr Ashley Lupin was awarded the British Empire Medal (B.E.M.) by the Queen in the 2016 New Years Honours List.
For this reason we monitor your gum health at every check-up, so that we can deal with any problems early.
Tooth decay is caused by the bacteria in plaque digesting the sugar in your diet and converting this to acid.
This then dissolves the tooth and forms a cavity which protects the bacteria and then decay quickly progresses.

Children are particularly welcome to the Practice, and should be accompanied, at least on their first visit, by a parent or other responsible adult, so we can if necessary discuss their treatment.
Children should be seen regularly from the age of 2 or 3 onwards, so they can familiarise themselves with the surgery environment, and we can monitor their development.
We have an associated Specialist Orthodontist, to deal with problems of incorrect bite or crowded teeth, and all children will be assessed routinely for any corrective treatment requirements.

Your first visit is primarily for examination and planning, so you may not necessarily have any treatment carried out except for the relief of pain.
At this stage it is most important that you inform the Dentist of any medical condition of which you have a history, especially: epilepsy or blackouts, diabetes, jaundice, excessive bleeding, rheumatic fever, heart complaints, or an allergy.
Also mention if you are taking any drugs, tablets, or medicines, so we can safeguard your health during treatment.

Please try to let us know in good time if you have to cancel.
We always try to see you punctually, but inevitably delays can occur, if we deal with emergencies, or if someone's treatment takes longer than anticipated, so please be patient if you are kept waiting.
Should you need emergency treatment yourself, telephone or call in at once, and the reception staff will arrange for you to be seen as soon as possible.
If you are not in pain, please make a routine appointment.
If you are in pain outside surgery hours, please telephone our 24-hour answering service, which will put you in touch with our emergency arrangements.
