Shakespeare Dental Centre
Shakespeare Drive Dental Centre has been around for a long time! We've gone from mainly NHS to completely private care for adults and children. Most of our patients have put their trust in us for a long time too. We pride ourselves in providing modern dental care with compassion and we respect our patients' concerns. It's all about you and how we can help you towards long term dental health.

Most dental disease is preventable so our continuing aim is to make sure you understand how to care for your teeth and gums effectively. Preventive treatment is very effective and is relatively cheaper than reparative treatment. When things do need fixing, first thing in our mind is how we can obtain the best outcome for you for the least amount of dentistry.

We'll always explain the different options to you because we understand your priorities and circumstances vary.

Luke joined the team at Shakespeare Drive in 2018 having previously worked in Derby and Tamworth.
Luke enjoys providing a wide range of general dental treatments to patients and is particularly fond of root canal treatments, tooth whitening and making dentures.
He believes strongly that teeth should be for life and takes a great interest in helping older patients keep their natural teeth as healthy as possible.
He is studying towards an MSc in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Birmingham and has received dental implant training under the mentorship of specialist dentists in Balsall Common.
Sugar causes tooth decay.
Whilst there are many other factors that can play a role, including dry mouth, by reducing the amount and especially the frequency of sugar in your diet you can reduce the amount of tooth decay you experience.
Gum disease is caused by plaque, which is a sticky substance made up of the bacteria that we all have in our mouths.
When we don't remove the plaque often enough it can cause inflammation (gingivitis) which eventually may progress to bone loss around the teeth (periodontitis).
We can add white filling material to the edges of your teeth to improve the shape and size of your teeth without removing healthy tooth structure.
This is often preferable to destructive veneers which remove sound enamel.
In fact, these pictures show a tooth that was built-up using bonding after the patient's veneer kept falling off.
Aesthetic and predictable, white fillings are a simple and effective method for improving your smile and addressing tooth decay.
We can remove old silver fillings when needed and replace them with white fillings for an instant improvement.
The first time you visit the hygienist is the most important.
Showing you the areas which you could improve on with your brushing and the full range of aids for cleaning in between your teeth is coupled with a "gross scale" to remove built-up plaque and tartar (calculus) so you can clean more effectively.
The process of oral hygiene instruction and education is ongoing throughout your life and we will always make sure you have the skills and techniques needed to look after your gums and teeth.
After the initial hygiene visit, further visits are recommended according to your needs if necessary.
