Winslow Dental Practice is a professional environment where we are dedicated to providing high quality dental care to all of our patients in relaxed and friendly surroundings. We aim to make you and your family, as comfortable as possible during your visit. The Practice always welcomes new patients. At your first visit we will complete a detailed medical history and examination of your teeth, mouth and gums.
Where necessary we will also take digital x-rays to aid diagnosis. Our digital x-ray system enables x-rays to be taken using far less radiation than standard film x-ray. We will listen to any concerns you have and discuss with you the treatment options available. New patients have the option of either registering privately and "pay as you go" or registering under Denplan Care.
We believe in prevention and check-ups from an early age and we welcome children on the NHS. Quality: We have systems in place to ensure that all treatment provided to our patients is maintained at a high standard and in line with good practice and current teaching.

Implants are one way of replacing missing teeth.
A post is planted in the jaw bone to support a replacement tooth.
This acts like the root of a natural tooth.
Implants can also be used to support fixed bridges or dentures.
Implant treatment normally has two stages.
First, the implant is placed in the jaw.
Then, when the jaw has healed, replacement teeth are attached to the implant.
In some situations it is possible for temporary teeth to be attached to an implant at the time of fitting.
Dental implants can give the patient new teeth which look, feel and function just like the natural original.

A dental bridge can be used to fill the gap between two adjacent teeth.
A specially designed structure incorporating a hollow crown to support the missing tooth is prepared in the dental laboratory.
Similarly to crowns and implants, the replacement bridge "tooth" will be matched to the rest of your teeth to give as natural a result as possible.
Bridgework can be constructed from a variety of different materials depending upon the application - your cosmetic dentist will advise what is most appropriate.

A crown is a cap that is placed over a tooth and held in place by dental adhesive or cement.
Crowns can be made from a variety of materials.
They can be made from plastic, ceramic or metal alloys.
A combination of metal and ceramic is also possible to maximise strength and simulate the appearance of natural teeth.
Crowns are the perfect way to rebuild teeth which have been broken, or have been weakened by decay or a very large filling.
The crown fits right over the remaining part of the tooth, providing strength and durability giving it the shape and contour of a natural tooth.
