Dental Implants have changed the face of dentistry over the last 25 years. This section will give you an overview of the topic of dental implants, to be followed by more detail in additional sections. Dental implants can be used to support single crowns, multiple tooth bridges or full dentures. The aesthetic and functional results are generally better than loose prostheses.
When properly looked after, implant supported dental restorations can last a lifetime. Implant supported false teeth overcome the inconvenience and discomfort of loose dentures. Dental implants are permanent replacements for failing or missing tooth roots. They are titanium supports for replacement teeth, such as crowns, bridges and dentures. They enable the restoration of a natural smile, improving patient comfort and confidence.
For many dental problems, both functional and aesthetic, implant treatment is increasingly the patient's preferred option. Continued use (loading) of the supporting bone reduces shrinkage caused by biological resorption.

Initial general dental consultation appointments will cost between 50 and 70 including X-rays.
When booking an appointment we normally require a 60 deposit.
A full IMPLANT consultation and assessment is 150 and includes routine X rays.
If you are unable to keep an appointment please let us know at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a charge.
We would also be grateful if you could inform us if you are going to be more than 10 min late for an appointment, more often than not it may be necessary for us to rebook the appointment; this is due to the fact we do not like to rush our work, and want to give you the time that is needed.

The first modern dental implant was placed in 1965.
The design and materials have been much refined over the last 40 years with increasing success rates.
Dental implants became widely available from the 1980s and millions have been successfully placed since then.
Dental implants have been used in clinical practice for many years.
The materials have been rigorously tested.
There are always risks with any surgical procedure.
These partly depend on the patient and the operator.
The pros and cons should be discussed with the implant dentist during the clinical consultation.

If you have lost many teeth, you may have reached a tipping point where you can no longer eat or smile normally.
Craig Jack at Maple Dentalcare says, Maybe you still have some teeth but they are so loose or broken down that eating has become difficult and uncomfortable.
At the same time the appearance of your teeth may have deteriorated to such an extent that you are embarrassed to smile.
Not being able to enjoy food and talk comfortably often gets people down.
For some people the idea of having removable dentures to replace their teeth is unacceptable.

It is now a year since the completion of my implant treatment and I am writing to say that I am still thrilled with my teeth and the way in which having the implants has affected my life.
Since having the implants I can honestly say that I have been pain free which is wonderful, and I can eat almost anything.
I now don't have to worry about dining out and can smile freely with confidence.
My teeth are part of me and I can certainly recommend not only implants but more specifically the service and aftercare support that you and the team provide.
