Dr A Brokenshire
Kempston Dental Practice is a long standing private family practice where children are also welcome under the NHS. It is a place where you are never rushed and receive the advice you need to make informed choices and where the ethos is centred on prevention as well as a cure. We understand that everyone is different, so we will take time to listen to your dental concerns and needs.

Once we have completed a comprehensive examination and consultation, we will then be able to produce a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs.

For aesthetic reasons, a natural white coloured 'composite' material is used rather than amalgam fillings.
A natural-coloured filling material can be used for minor repairs to front teeth like chipped or broken tooth corners.
You can also use strong white fillings at the back of your mouth to give the appearance of 'invisible' fillings.
We can also provide metal fillings (amalgams) as your dentist may find this a more appropriate filling choice for your mouth.
Most people are completely unaware that they grind their teeth at night because often they do it while they sleep.
If your spouse has to wear earplugs at night because of the noise of the grinding.
Bruxism is the medical term for forceful clenching and/or grinding of your teeth.
It is considered a major cause of tooth problems.
Some patients will say that they notice signs of wear, but it is not just a cosmetic problem it also causes strain on the jaw joints.
Allowed to persist, grinding causes temperature sensitivity, pain because the wear gets down to the nerve, cracks in the teeth, receding gums, and eventually lost teeth.
Veneers can be used to improve the shape or colour of teeth that are broken down or significantly discoloured.
Your dentist can discuss with you whether a veneer would be a suitable treatment in your individual case.
Veneer cases require careful planning to ensure we achieve a result that will both work well in the long term and to ensure you are happy with the finished appearance of your teeth.
Your dentist will discuss the treatment and options with you, checking that you understand the procedure and will answer any questions you may have.
