Milton Dental Practice
Milton Dental Practice is situated in the Oxfordshire Cotswold village of Milton-under-Wychwood. Penny Clarke will ensure that your visit to our practice is a pleasant one. It's Penny's job to book your appointments so that they suit your schedule and ensure that patients in pain are seen as soon as possible. Penny can also answer any questions you may have about your treatment and liaises between the patients and the clinical staff.

It's the nurses' job to assist the dentist to enable the dental procedures to flow smoothly. They prepare the surgery, mix materials and are responsible for the cross-infection control. Like all good assistants they have to plan ahead and keep smiling! Liz Franklin joined the practice in 2019, but has had many year's experience as a dental nurse working in local practices.

Liz is efficient and caring, with a lovely smile that helps settle the nervous patient! It's been a pleasure to welcome back Leigh Smith to the team. Leigh is a very experienced dental nurse with special training in assisting with the placement of implants and in digital imaging, which will eventually replace messy impressions.
Services
After so many years serving the local community, at Milton Dental Practice we are very aware that the journey to good oral health is a joint one taken by you and us working together.
So each patient's treatment is tailored to suit their needs and wants, and to suit their pocket.
Once you've contacted the practice, you will be sent a Welcome Pack by Penny our Receptionist, with a Practice Leaflet giving basic information about us and directions.
At your first appointment, the dentist will go through your medical history with you, discussing any factors that may have a bearing on your general health and how this may affect the health of your mouth.
Dr Bigg has been looking after his patients in West Oxfordshire for over 40 years.
During this time he has treated up to four generations of some families and this experience has contributed to our philosophy of care.
Too often in the past, teeth have been restored by cutting away tooth tissue.
Once this is lost, it cannot be re-gained.
The best dentistry relies on as little removal of tooth tissue as possible.
No treatment will be prescribed to you until you are aware of the consequences and what will be needed to maintain it in the future.
Dr Bigg lectures at home and abroad on Cosmetic and Non-Invasive Dentistry, and has lectured on Tooth Whitening for MSc students at the University of Manchester.
This helps to ensure that he is aware of all the recent developments in dentistry.
Tooth whitening has become simpler and quicker in the last few years.
There's no need now for lengthy procedures in the dental chair and bleaching overnight.
At Milton Dental Practice we have a bleaching gel which whitens teeth in one to two hours.
We are now able to offer dental implants at our practice - the number one solution for the replacement of missing or failing teeth.
They can completely restore appearance, function, and ultimately, self-confidence.
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root made out of titanium.
Titanium is a noble metal that is highly compatible with living tissue.
This means that, even though it's a foreign body that's been introduced into the jaw, the body accepts the implant and encloses it with bone, creating a fixed and stable support for single crowns, bridges or dentures.
