Services
42 St Giles' is a grade 2 listed building which was built in the 1760s.
There is a listed boundary stone in the front garden.
In its recent history, prior to our dental practice, 42 was used as offices and a shop.
However, we are not the first dentists to have had a practice here as Mr William Geekie LDS lived and worked here between 1878 and 1932 and was succeeded by Miss Dorothy Smith LDS.
She qualified in 1918, only 2 years after the first female dentists were licenced.
Miss Smith practiced at 42 from 1932 to 1954.
We aim to provide the best possible treatment for you and we constantly strive for excellence.
Our two surgeries, on the first floor, are fully equipped for all aspects of contemporary dentistry.
We believe that ethical dentistry offers the best care and that the best care results in less dentistry for you in the long term.
We are members of Denplan and offer both Denplan Care, a complete dental health maintenance scheme and Denplan Essentials, which allows you to budget for a fixed number of dental examinations and cleans per year.
This offer is for a dental examination, small x-rays and the appointment will typically last 40 minutes.
If you have an urgent dental problem, we will do our best to deal with that as well.
Any treatment will be charged at our usual rates.
This is suitable if you are in Oxford for a short time and need to keep up with your hygiene visits; it does not include an assessment.
If you are a patient of the practice and have a dental emergency, please ring 07765 474421 to speak to one of the dentists.
Telephone advice is offered free of charge; a call-out fee in addition to the treatment costs will apply to practice visits.
If you are a Denplan patient and are away from home, please ring the appropriate number on your Denplan membership card (UK or Overseas) and Denplan will assist you in finding a dentist and the Denplan insurance will pay the dentist's fees.
If the ache is constant and throbbing, please take some painkillers and contact us as soon as you are able to.
Denplan Care gives you an easy and affordable way to spread the cost of your routine preventative and restorative dental care.
It also includes supplementary insurance, to provide cover if you have a dental injury or dental emergency.
Denplan Essentials provides a fixed number of check-ups and cleaning/polishing appointments per year.
The supplementary insurance is included; further treatments are quoted individually.
