Since then, their respective children Richard Nichols and Catherine Fisher, have taken over as the new owners and have continued to provide care to all our patients in our family friendly practice. We like to think we offer the very best in patient care and high quality dentistry in a calm, comfortable and friendly environment. We offer a broad selection of treatments and services for affordable and competitive prices either privately or through the Denplan scheme.

We understand that all our patients will have individual needs and will tailor the treatment plan to you personally. We can provide a range of preventative, restorative and cosmetic treatments that can be discussed at your consultation. We also have a hygiene therapist available and our surgeries are accessible for wheelchairs. Our goal is to improve and maintain your oral health so you can smile with confidence and comfort but sometimes you may need us for an emergency.

We offer emergency appointments to existing and new patients who require urgent treatment for toothache.
Services
Whether your teeth are the wrong shape, misaligned, stained, or chipped, our dentists can treat your teeth with minimally invasive methods using the latest techniques and the finest materials.
We can now offer wrinkle relaxing treatments to soften your frown lines and crows feet by placing tiny injections in your forehead and around your eyes.
Efficient preventative care is key to having a healthy smile.
Regular inspections can help our team to diagnose oral cancer, gum disease and tooth decay before they spread and become a problem.
Most of our patients come to us for their general dentistry and this is what we feel we excel at.
Usually this will involve your 6 monthly or annual dental inspections and any treatment that results from the findings.
At Nichols and Fisher Dental Care we will generally recommend you come to see us every 6 months to a year depending on your dental need.
These are used as a full dental health check and usually last around 15 minutes.
It is quite normal to have dental radiographs or 'x-rays' taken every few years.
Tooth whitening can be a highly effective way of lightening the natural colour of your teeth without removing any of the tooth surface.
It cannot make a complete colour change; but it may lighten the existing shade.
Very few people have brilliant white teeth and our teeth can become more discoloured as we get older.
Your teeth can also be stained on the surface through food and drinks such as tea, coffee, red wine and blackcurrant.
Another factor which can stain the teeth is smoking.
Tooth whitening lightens teeth and helps to remove these stains and discoloration.
If you have old discoloured fillings we can assess your mouth to see if it is possible to remove these and replace them for a cosmetic tooth coloured filling.
The material we use is called composite resin.
They are made of a ceramic and plastic compound.
Because resin mimics the appearance of natural teeth, these fillings blend right in.
They are also known as "white fillings" or "tooth-coloured fillings.
The use of composite resin has many different applications in restorative dentistry from changing the colour and shape of your teeth to sealing over cracked parts of a tooth or simply filling a previously decayed hole in a tooth.
Unfortunately it is sometimes not possible to save a tooth anymore.
At this point the tooth will probably need removing or 'extracting', which leaves a gap in the smile.
Some people choose to live with this gap and others prefer to fill the gap with an artificial or prosthetic tooth option.
There are generally 3 types of tooth replacement options available.
Not every option is suitable for every patient so you will need an in depth discussion with a dentist to decide what is best for you but here is some information on the different types.
