Mark and Sally Shimmin took ownership of Linden Dental Surgery in 1993 building a reputation for high quality dentistry in a caring and friendly environment.
Since that time they have sympathetically modernised and extended the turn of the century building.
The result is a comfortable, relaxing, but clinical environment, enabling the provision of up to the minute, quality care for patients.
We place a high emphasis on Preventative care and patient education, building close relationships with our patients.

Please wear these during your visit at all times whilst at the practice except during clinical treatments.
Our dentists will enforce strict protocols to keep you as safe as possible during your treatment.
Our team will be wearing Personal Protection Equipment, so may look a little different than before.
Please do not be alarmed, we are still the same friendly people underneath.

We allocate a 30 minute appointment for a new patient consultation.
Your dentist will have plenty of time for the dentist to thoroughly examine your mouth and discuss any problems or worries with you.
Your past dental treatments and experiences, and whether you are nervous of any aspects of dental treatment.
Your dentist may also go through any relevant tooth cleaning techniques with you such as brushing and flossing.
After examining your teeth your dentist will discuss any treatment needed, explaining any choices and the cost implications.

Teeth are stained by the foods and drinks we consume.
Smoking further stains teeth and the natural bright, white shade becomes darkened.
Teeth whitening is a successful and simple method of lightening the colour of your teeth.
The degree of whiteness achieved will vary from patient to patient and with the type of bleaching process chosen.
A whitening gel is placed in a custom-made tray which you can wear whilst asleep or for short periods during the day.

If your front teeth are stained, chipped, or misaligned, veneers will give you a good life-like appearance with minimum tooth adjustment.
A veneer is a porcelain facing on the front of your teeth usually your top teeth, it is just like a false finger nail.
Veneers make teeth look natural and healthy, and because they are very thin and are held in place by a special strong bond (rather like super-glue) very little preparation of the tooth is needed.
A precise shade of porcelain can be chosen to give the right colour to improve a single discoloured or stained tooth or to lighten front teeth (usually the upper ones) generally.
