Katoomba Dental Practice
Please be aware that safety measures including social distancing and the wearing of face coverings remain in place across all healthcare settings so that the most vulnerable people can continue to safely attend. We have put in place extra measures to keep our patients safe during any dental procedures and any treatment needs to be planned very carefully in line with additional procedures and precautions required.

Our hygienists will be undertaking hand scaling (with minimal polishing) only. There have been no changes to the infection control protocols since the easing of restrictions. If you have a dental problem, and are a registered patient, please call our reception team and we will organise a suitable appointment with your dentist, this may involve a triage video/phone call first.

In the meantime, we continue to monitor the situation closely and thank you for your patience. We have over 4500 patients, many from Horley, Crawley and the local area who come back time and time again, others from long distances who believe our services are well worth the travelling involved.
Services
Our practice has been on this site for many years but became recognisable as today's Katoomba Dental Practice in 1998 when Graham Loader and Chih Liu took over as joint partners with Naveed Jamil joining not long afterwards.
Many of the team joined at this time and are still here more than 20 years later.
All of our dentists and health care professionals are committed to continuing professional development enabling them to keep abreast of changing skills and advances in technology.
Our partners are also Denplan Excel accredited.
Please see below our usual opening hours.
Please be aware that each dentist has a different working pattern and therefore hours may vary from week to week.
Our core reception hours are Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm and Friday 8am to 12.30pm.
Although we are closed over the weekend and bank holidays our registered patients may still call our normal telephone number for dental emergencies.
These frequently asked questions are a list of questions and answers, all supposed to be commonly asked relating to our Practice and dental treatments.
There are simple steps that each of us can take to greatly decrease the risk of developing tooth decay, gum disease and other dental problems.
Brush first thing in the morning before eating and drinking and then again last thing at night.
A quality electric toothbrush gets the best results (ask for a rechargeable power toothbrush).
Oral B and Sonicare are reliable makes that have a range of brushes depending on your budget.
We carry out patient surveys on a regular basis to ensure that we are providing the service that our patients want.
We also have a suggestion box in the waiting room which we check regularly and aim to incorporate any suggestions made to us where possible.
We welcome all feedback and ask our patients to review us on Google so that others looking for a dentist can judge what we offer.
This provides us with a wealth of knowledge about our patients to inform clinical decision making on an individual basis.
We carry out routine testing on patients for early signs of oral cancer before they have any symptoms.
Our Professional hygienists give treatment and advice to help ensure that you have a healthy gum and teeth.
