Our approach is to work as a team to ensure every step of your visit and treatment is handled with care. I am passionate about the work I do and have been since I qualified in 1983 from London University. I have owned One20 Dental since 1995 and have been treating many of my patients for over 20 years now. Over the years, I have developed my interests in helping nervous patients overcome their fears and anxieties about treatment through a caring, sympathetic and down to earth approach.

I also really enjoy helping people to restore their smiles. I find the improved confidence a person can achieve from having a smile to be proud of is incredibly transforming. I firmly believe in continuing professional education as it helps me to keep abreast of changes and developments in modern dentistry. Outside of practice life, what makes me really tick is spending time with my family, supporting Everton football club and enjoying weekends in my old VW campervan.

I have five children and I use some of the parenting skills I have learned to help and encourage my younger patients to accept treatments.
Services
If your front teeth are stained, chipped, or malaligned, veneers will give you a good life-like appearance with minimum tooth adjustment.
A veneer is a facing on the front of your teeth usually your top teeth, it is just like a false finger nail.
Veneers make teeth look natural and healthy, and because they are very thin and are held in place by a special strong bond (rather like super-glue) very little preparation of the tooth is needed.
A precise shade of porcelain can be chosen to give the right colour to improve a single discoloured or stained tooth or to lighten front teeth (usually the upper ones) generally.
Dental implants offer a permanent solution for your missing teeth.
A dental implant is essentially a substitute for a natural root and commonly it is screw or cylinder shaped.
To ensure we offer our patients the best possible dental implant service we have teamed up with well-respected implant specialist Paul Swanson at Rose Lane in Liverpool.
Each implant is placed into a socket carefully drilled at the precise location of the intended tooth.
Often the implant can be placed at the same time as removal of the tooth all on the same day.
When we eat sugar (refined carbohydrate) bacteria in the mouth metabolise this sugar and acid is produced.
This decay creates a hole in the tooth which needs to be fixed or restored to prevent pain and tooth loss.
More and more people are not opting to have a tooth coloured filling (called a composite) placed instead of the traditional silver amalgam fillings of yesteryear.
Not only are they cosmetically superior but they are mercury- free creating less impact on the environment.
Tooth coloured fillings are available in a wide range of shades (included tooth whitened shades) to produce as close a match as possible to the natural tooth.
There are many ways to deal with broken or chipped teeth depending on the size or position of the fracture.
They range from the simple smoothing of a rough edge to Crowning and everything in between to keep as much of the natural tooth in tact as possible.
Tooth coloured fillings (composites) can be "bonded" to the damaged tooth surface to produce invisible repairs.
Where the damage has been extensive and there has been a lot of tooth tissue lost then restoring the tooth with a crown provides a neat long term solution.
Following tooth loss, the resulting space may be closed by using a denture, bridge or implant.
Most but not all patients prefer the convenience of a bridge over a denture and are often used as a more economical restoration than an implant.
A bridge is not always suitable however and a host of factors such as the size of the gap or the quality of the supporting teeth, gums and bone may mean that it is not possible to use a bridge.
The preparation of the neighbouring supporting teeth by reducing them in size has to be considered too as this may mean shortening the life span of those teeth.
