Services
Developed by Cadent, iTero Digital Dentistry technology uses a digital scanner to produce replica images of your mouth.
The measurements and images are then used by our team and technicians to create perfectly fitting dental restorations and provide orthodontic treatment.
The end result is a faster, more accurate and comfortable experience.
Patients sometimes find impressions with dental putty uncomfortable, but Digital Dentistry technology is a much more comfortable solution.
The process is as simple as taking a photograph of your mouth.
At least 25% of us don't like going to the dentist - it is one of the most common phobias people face.
It's important to know that you are not alone in your anxiety, and there are techniques available to help manage your phobia.
For example, you may find treatment easier if you have some form of sedation.
At Cape Road Dental, we meet lots of people who feel anxious about dental treatment.
We have seen and heard it all before.
Rest assured that our dentists are sympathetic and able to offer practical solutions to help you to relax.
At Cape Road Dental, we have a strong focus on preventive dentistry - helping you and your family to avoid problems such as tooth decay and gum disease, so you can keep your teeth for life.
Gum disease often doesn't show any symptoms in its initial stages but can lead to bad breath and sore, swollen or bleeding gums.
If left untreated, it can eventually lead to tooth loss.
It has also been linked to wider health problems including heart disease.
Unfortunately, it is a very common disease, caused by plaque - a film of sticky bacteria that is constantly forming on your teeth.
A dental crown may be recommended if a tooth is very decayed and not strong enough to be filled or if the top of the tooth has been accidently damaged.
We take a digital scan of the area using the latest iTero scanner, and send it to a dental laboratory, where a new crown is carefully crafted to provide a perfect fit and colour match.
The crown is then fitted over the remaining part of a tooth, to strengthen it and make it look like a whole, natural tooth once more.
Modern crowns are not as bulky as older ones, making them feel more natural, and they also do not have the old-fashioned metal edge at the gumline.
Dental bridges are a permanent and realistic looking way of filling a gap created by one or more missing teeth.
A bridge is a false tooth that is held in place by the teeth next to it.
It is usually made of a precious metal base such as gold, with tooth coloured porcelain bonded to visible areas to make it look natural.
Most often, the teeth on each side will need to have crowns fixed onto them.
The two crowns are then joined together by placing the false tooth between them and cementing them in place.
